HOBOKEN – A Bronx man that was driving while intoxicated hit a vehicle that was stopped at a red light on Willow Ave and then attempted to leave the scene, officials said.
On February 21st at around 7:09 p.m., Cesar Moncayo, 48 of Bronx, NY, was driving his Honda Pilot SUV when it slammed into the back of a Silver Chevrolet Van at the traffic light of 1300 Willow Ave. While Officers Diguglielmo and Cuevas were in route to the location, dispatch informed them that the Honda was attempting to leave the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet van followed the vehicle and was able to stop him near 11th St. When the officers arrived Moncayo was slurring his speech and his breath smelled like alcohol, officials said.
He was arrested, issued a summons for driving while intoxicated, and later released to a responsible party, according to police reports.
