An East Orange man has been charged with a double murder, after the bodies of a father and son were found inside a Guttenberg residence last month.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reports that the Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit arrested a 40-year old East Orange man following a death investigation in the small, Hudson County municipality.
According to Suarez, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, shortly past 10 p.m., the Guttenberg Police Department was notified of two unresponsive males inside a residence at 209 71st Street. The males – later identified as 87-year old Justo Bory and his son, 58-year old Ricardo Bory, both of Guttenberg – were pronounced dead at the scene.
A press release from the Prosecutor’s Office states that “during the initial response, the Guttenberg Police Department arrested Lamont Cole, 40, of East Orange, for interfering with the investigation. Cole has been detained at the Hudson County Correctional Facility since the arrest.”
Post-mortem examinations were performed on both male victims. Cole was arrested at the Hudson County Correctional Facility on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, and charged with one count of murder. The post-mortem report pertaining to Ricardo Bory is pending.
