Elected officials gush over elected school board victory in West New York. Freeholder Jose Munoz, Commissioner Count Wiley and former Mayor Sal Vega all contributed to the cause and spoke their mind on the matter.
SAL VEGA USED HIS POWER TO APPOINT HIS OWN BOARD AND NOW THAT HE ISN’T MAYOR HE WANTS A CHANGE…ALSO MAYBE THE FREEHOLDER SHOULD LEARN HOW TO SPEAK PROPER ENGLISH BEFORE HIS NEXT ELECTION OR MAYBE TRY A SALAD.
Steve you are a sore loser!!!
Steve, it is sad that you would refer to a person’s accent, in our great nation. A nation that among its greatest strengths is, its cultural diversity. Moreover, to refer to his weight, speaks volumes of your lack of education, and communications skills. As for our Former Mayor, Sal Vega, he never had these types of people on the Board of Trustees, as a result, WNY has some of the greatest schools in the country. Therefore, in my opinion the only way to reverse the damage done by the present mayor’s appointments, is a change to an elected board, so we may rid our School Board of these poor excuses for Trustees.
Ralph Martell WNY
Come on!! Vega is a total hypocrite. If the point is about giving the people of WNY the freedom to choose, why didn’t he give them that freedom while he was Mayor? Because he, just like Roque and everybody else before, wanted the power. Don’t give me that he didn’t have the type of people Roque has. I see, so when he suppressed the people’s right to elect the board members it was OK because, in your opinion, they were good people? Give me a break!
Ralph, Why can’t Steve talk about Munoz’s English ability? Sure, we are a great nation, diverse and so on and so forth. But a good level of English is important for many jobs and for a public job like Munoz has it is extremely important to have excellent communication skills. It is OK to have an accent as long as it does not interfere with people understanding what you are saying. So, Steve bringing that point up was fair. And both my parents have very strong Spanish accents, but that has nothing to do with holding a job and making sure people are able to understand you. As far as the salad, let us have some sense of humor. We could all use more salads.

He is very qualified for the position he holds. Einstein had a heavy accent too didn’t you know that!
The cocky mayor of West New York has lost his first battle of many yet to come!
I am truly surprised that Roque didn’t lie, cheat or buy this one! Ya know the way he became mayor
I think it would have been a good thing for John to ask Vega how come he did not have any problem with an appointed board when he was Mayor? That question can still be asked.
Thank you Frank YOU deserve all the credit along with Mr Munoz You brought all these people together for the CHILDREN. As much as Wiley & Vega and other town officials came on board at the very end YOU and the Residents for a Better West New York are responsiblefor this OVERWHELMING VICTORY> Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Right, Frank is a hero. He did it for the CHILDREN! Sure!
Well said Janice, this was Frank’s baby from the begining and his group was the only one to follow through on this to victory. As for Wiley and Vega ask Frank how many signatures did these guys get for them?
Frank and group did this to bring transparency , democracy and accountability. The fidelroque uses the school board to hire family friends and hide no show jobs. Also receive kickbacks From contracts like nuway. Our children deserve people who are qualified to represent them and give our children better opportunity. Our school district is ranked 293 out of 300. Stop hating haters. Frank is bringing power back to people.
You ain’t so happy now, are you Munoz? LOL! Viva Caridad!!!!!!!!!!
