Female pedestrian critically injured by truck in West New York

A 23-year-old woman was hospitalized Monday morning with severe head trauma after a 2013 Toyota Tundra struck her in West New York.

 

According to Michael Makarski, spokesman for the Hudson County Sheriff’s office — the woman, whose name was not yet released, was walking in the crosswalk on Port Imperial Boulevard near Riverwalk Place when she was hit.

The woman was later identified as Juliana Lee, a Port Imperial resident and her family was notified, Makarski says.

Officers from West New York and the Sheriff’s office are interviewing eyewitnesses.   At this time, no summons have been issued.

She was transported to Jersey City Medical Center in critical condition, and was still in surgery as of 1:45 pm.

  1. I passed by this accident scene this morning. All I can say is that all emergency agencies on scene were working very hard and they deserve praise for what they do. Thoughts go out to the young lady and her family.
