Female Struck In Mouth By Man And One Knocked Unconscious During Street Fight In Hoboken

At around 1:42 a.m. on February 20, 2015, police received report of a large group fight in front of 221 Washington St., officials said. When Officers Globke and Roman arrived to the scene, they observed a female victim profusely bleeding from the mouth and missing three lower teeth. They also observed an unconscious male victim lying on his back and bleeding from his head. A witness told officials that the fight started near 215 Washington St. and identified the males who assaulted the victims. Another witness stated that three men started the altercation when they attempted to enter the female’s car but were denied. The female was allegedly one of the male’s friends. The female and male victims were transported by ambulance to Hoboken Medical Center for evaluation.

Aladdin Awad, 21, of Corona, CA was identified as the male that struck the female victim in the mouth. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Due to the extent of the injuries sustained to the female, he will be arranged at Central Judicial Processing where his bail will be set.

Jad Awad, 25, of Jersey City is Aladdin’s cousin, who was knocked unconscious by Kenny Casares, a friend of the female victim. Jad Awad was charged with simple assault on the complaint of a citizen.

A witness stated that Aladdin and Jad were the initial aggressors of the incident.

Kenny Casares, 31, of North Bergen was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on Jad Awad and released on his own recognizance with a court date.
