Following Several Weather-Related Postponements, Union City’s Rec Baseball Held Opening Ceremonies

Despite chilly temperatures, Union City finally held its Rec Baseball Parade and Opening Ceremony on Sunday morning after several postponements due to rain.

350 Union City youngsters are signed up for this year’s Recreation Baseball program, with age levels comprising minors, majors and under 16 on tap.  On Sunday morning in Washington County Park, players received trophies for their accomplishments during last season.

 

              It was a well attended event, with parents cheering on their kids and anticipating a season filled with fun and great competition.

              Commissioner Celin Valdivia was on hand to throw out the first pitch prior to the start of games.

The Rec Baseball Program is organized by the Board of Edcuation in cooperation with the City Administration.
