Want to learn about the trees in the Mile Square City? What species does Hoboken have? Why are trees important for an urban environment?
Well, Hoboken and the Hoboken Shade Tree Commission will host the second annual Arbor Day Tree Tour on Friday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The three-hour tour, guided by an urban forester and ecologist, consists of six stops. Residents can walk to any location to learn more about different tree species, the importance of tree diversity, tree lifecycles, and more.
Locations include:
- Pier A Park
- 7th & Jackson Resiliency Park
- Brandt School
- Elysian Park
- Southwest Resiliency Park
- Church Square Park
Residents with mobility issues can take a free Hop shuttle which will depart at 9 a.m. and end at 12 p.m. from the Multi-Service Center at 124 Grand Street.
