Hoboken Business Alliance Board of Trustees Applications Open
HOBOKEN, NJ – The Hoboken Business Alliance (HBA) is currently seeking applications from local business owners, property owners, and community members for positions on their Board of Trustees. This board serves as the governing body of the organization.
The HBA was established in 2020 as a Special Improvement District by the Hoboken City Council. Its primary goal is to enhance the business environment in Hoboken and stimulate local commerce. The organization’s mission emphasizes collaboration with businesses, government, and the community to foster a vibrant business ecosystem where small businesses can flourish.
HBA President James Runkle stated that the organization works diligently throughout the year to bolster the city’s business environment and to promote the diverse offerings of the local business community.
In September 2022, Roxannne Earley was appointed as the HBA’s Executive Director. She emphasized the importance of businesses in the community and highlighted their role in creating vibrant neighborhoods for both residents and visitors.
As part of its ongoing efforts, the HBA aims to diversify its representation of small businesses and is keen on adding members with expertise in legal, finance, and non-profit sectors. This initiative is in line with the organization’s ambitious goals for 2024 and beyond.
Board members are expected to actively participate, sharing their expertise and insights to further the growth of the Hoboken business community. The role is voluntary, with members attending quarterly board meetings and participating in relevant committees.
Catherine Willhoit, Co-Founder of The Hive, shared her positive experience serving on the HBA board, emphasizing the organization’s potential to elevate Hoboken’s business scene.
