Hoboken Events Update: Green Fair Postponed, Library Festival Thrives, and Ragamuffin Parade Unveiled

Hoboken, NJ – October 13, 2023 – Hoboken residents, get ready for an eventful season! While the weather has thrown a curveball, there’s still a lot to look forward to in this vibrant community.

Green Fair: Originally slated for Saturday, October 14th at Church Square Park, the 12th Annual Green Fair is being rescheduled for the spring. Vendors who had previously registered don’t need to worry – you’re all set. And keep an eye out for announcements regarding the 2023 Green Business Recognition program.

Library Festival: Don’t let the rain dampen your spirits! The 10th Annual Library Festival and the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the historic 3rd-floor restoration are moving indoors to the Hoboken Public Free Library at 500 Park Ave. For event details, visit Hoboken Library Festival.

Ragamuffin Parade: Halloween in Hoboken is on! Join the annual Ragamuffin Parade on October 31st. The parade kicks off at 3:15 p.m. on 13th Street and Washington Street, winding down Washington Street to Fifth Street and ending at the Hoboken Little League Field. Please note that there won’t be a costume contest this year, but there will be a family-friendly Halloween celebration at Stevens Park with music, games, and more.

For those navigating the city on parade day, be prepared for some traffic adjustments, including NJ Transit bus routes. Northbound buses will make a detour, traveling west on Observer Highway and then north on Bloomfield Street. Southbound buses will take a slightly different route, heading east on 14th Street and then south on Hudson Street.

As always, safety comes first. The Hoboken Police Department reminds drivers to slow down, be on the lookout for trick-or-treaters, and use headlights. Pedestrians, remember to stick to the sidewalks and cross only at crosswalks. Let’s avoid crowding in the streets to ensure everyone’s safety. Streets may be temporarily closed if things get too crowded.

So, as we look forward to these fantastic events, stay tuned for updates and keep the festive spirit alive in Hoboken!
