Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer became the 11th Hudson County local leader to endorse County Executive Tom DeGise at a ceremony held recently. Standing in the recently-opened 14th Street Viaduct County Park, Mayor Zimmer spoke about the strong partnership that has developed between her administration and the County Executive and how it has benefitted the residents of Hoboken in the form of new and improved county parks, open space grants and many other programs and initiatives.
“Tom DeGise has done so much for parks in Hoboken, from this additional park space underneath the Viaduct to working with us on 1600 Park to helping make the Southwest Park a reality, where construction will be starting this summer” said Mayor Zimmer. “Whenever Hoboken needs him, County Executive DeGise is there and he has proven that he will work with us to address our needs and concerns and deliver for our residents. I truly appreciate the support and the partnership Tom and I have developed and I am proud to endorse his re-election campaign.”
Mayor Zimmer joins ten other Hudson County mayors who have endorsed County Executive DeGise, as well as several other elected officials and labor unions like the Laborers International Union.
“I am so proud of the growth of the City of Hoboken and the fact that it is turning into one of our state’s premier destinations,” said County Executive DeGise. “My administration is committed to continuing to provide the county resources this community needs to thrive, like open space and reliable public transportation. I thank Mayor Zimmer for her support and look forward to continuing our partnership to make Hoboken even greater.”
