Hoboken Police: Man Caught Using Credit Card to Enter a Private Dwelling in Hoboken

Robert Payne age 47 of Jersey City arrested after allegedly forcing himself into a private property on 2nd Street in Hoboken, Police says.

At 5:04 AM on 05/18/19 PO Enrico Gnassi and PO Harold Milne, while on patrol, observed the arrestee pressed up against the front door of an address on 2nd street. The arrestee appeared to be using his shoulder to push on the door as he was moving his hand around the door knob area. The officers approached the arrestee who then turned his head to look at them. The officers could see that he had a credit card jammed into door jamb by the locking mechanism in an attempt to bypass the lock.  He was placed under arrest and a search incident found (19) prescription pills in an unlabeled bottle which the arrestee could not provide a valid prescription for. He was transported to headquarters where his charges were placed on a warrant. He was later remanded to the Hudson County Rehabilitation Facility.
