Hoboken and Shipyard developers battle over waterfront development

Shipyard Developers are hoping to build two 11- story residential buildings along the Hoboken waterfront, known as the Monarch project. However the City of Hoboken is fighting back, trying to keep their waterfront open space for the public. This battle that’s been going on since 2012, was supposed to be voted on by the Hudson County freeholders last Tuesday, but had to be postponed. Many Hoboken citizens are voicing their opinion on keeping the city’s waterfront open space.
