Hoboken Woman Slashing Incident

 First reported by NY Post, a New Jersey woman, identified as Ola Albanni, 52, of Hoboken, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly slashing a bystander in the face with a kitchen knife in an unprovoked attack outside a Manhattan pizza shop. The incident took place outside 2 Bros Pizza on Eight Avenue and West 38th Street just after 6pm. The 65-year-old victim was hospitalized with a gash under her eye but was later released after treatment at Mount Sinai Hospital. Security footage released by the police showed the suspect fleeing the scene post the attack. Albanni now faces charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The reason behind the attack remains unknown. This incident adds to the increasing number of knife-related crimes in NYC, with a 26% spike since 2019, as per NYPD data.
