Hoboken’s ruptured water main has been repaired and all valves are open, which will continue to improve water pressure throughout the city.  However, the city remains under a boil water advisory until the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection can conduct a test analysis.

Residents and businesses should boil their water for at least one minute for the following: washing dishes, drinking, cooking, or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks, feeding pets, and all other consumption.

Water does not have to be boiled for showering or washing clothes.

If water is discolored, run your cold water faucets to flush pipes before boiling.  Bottled water is available for pick up at the DPW, located at the corner of Observer Highway and Willow Avenue.   Enter on the Willow Avenue side.

Due to fluctuations in water pressure, future water main breaks are possible as the system stabilizes.

Residents should continue to avoid the area of Observer Highway and Madison Street. Drivers should enter and exit the city from the north.

If residents are continuing to experience no water pressure, they should first contact building management and then the Office of Constituent Services at ndebenedetto@hobokennj.gov or call 201-420-2000 ext. 1311
