Home Cooling Assistance Available for Qualified Hudson County Residents

Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that home cooling assistance is available for qualified Hudson County residents from the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF).

Samantha Howard, the Executive Director of the BEOF, said, “If you or someone in your household has a medical condition that requires being protected from the heat of summer days, you may qualify for $200.00 towards your cooling bills.”

Applicants for the cooling program must meet certain income qualifications.

In order to qualify for the assistance, a one-person household may not have a gross monthly income above $1,962.

A two-person household may not have a monthly income above $2,655.

Additional income information for other household sizes is available from the BEOF.  Mayor Davis said, “I urge all Hudson County residents with low incomes and qualifying medical conditions to contact the BEOF to see whether they might qualify for this assistance.”

If your household size, income limits, and medical situation meet the guidelines for the program, please contact the BEOF office at 201-437-7222.

You may also stop by the BEOF office at 555 Kennedy Boulevard (between 21st and 22nd Streets) in Bayonne to pick up an application.

Applications must be submitted before Saturday, April 30, 2016.
