Homicide Unit Continues Investigating Monday’s Fatal Bayonne Stabbing

According to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, the Bayonne Police Department and the Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit are continuing their investigation into the fatal stabbing in Bayonne which happened on Monday, November 3rd at 17 Meadow Street.

According to a press release, Mello says that “shortly before 10:20 p.m., the Bayonne Police Department was notified of a dispute at 17 Meadow Street. Responding officers located a male – later identified as Richard Arcos, 41, of Garfield – with an apparent stab wound. He was pronounced dead just after 11:15 p.m.”  The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

During the course of the investigation, 28-year old Andrew Fuentes of Bayonne was charged with aggravated manslaughter, possession of a weapon (a knife) for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon (the knife).  He was taken into custody at the scene.  Mello says the matter is being investigated as a domestic dispute.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
