This morning, under cloudless sunny skies, Weehawken Mayor Richard F. Turner along with Hongkun Chairman Richard Liu, and Vice President of Design Darren Chang, took several gold shovels and ceremoniously broke ground on a new condominium project.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held to announce construction of Weehawken1800, a new, 282- condominium structure to be built on the Weehawken waterfront.
No Skyline views will be blocked by this development. Chairman Liu and Vice President Chang plan to build two 8-story towers housing 282 condominium units totaling 480,000 square feet.
The two 8-story towers will include 4,600 square feet of retail space and 8,500 square feet reserved for amenities that will include a basketball court, and a golf simulator, which will be available to the public through a membership fee. Amenities will also include a 12,250 square foot public plaza with seating, flowers and plants, and off-street parking that will include 346 parking spaces for residents, visitors, and shoppers.
