Jersey City – Hudson County Board of Freeholders approved the application and acceptance of $1.2 million in funds, if awarded, from the United States Department of Justice for the Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Site Based Program.
This program is to reduce opioid abuse and the number of overdose fatalities in Hudson County through the implementation of collaborative initiatives including an overdose fatality review team, peer recover support navigation and expansion of wrap around services for those residents in recovery.
The program will run from 2019 through September 30, 2022.
Freeholder Chairman Anthony Vainieri and the members of the Board of Chosen Freeholders are committed in their resolve to provide the necessary resources to combat opioid abuse.
