It’s a statistic no county wants to have. Unfortunately, Hudson County now has the highest number of coronavirus cases in New Jersey, having surpassed Bergen County since the onset of the pandemic.
In the latest figures released by the NJ Department of Health on Thursday, Hudson County has 17,134 of the total 142,704 reported for the Garden State.
The municipality with the most COVID-19 cases in Hudson County is Jersey City. The county seat has one third of the total, 6,221.
Bergen County is now second in the state with 17,080 cases. Essex County remains third with 15,824.
This is the first time Hudson County has had the most reported cases of the coronavirus.
JC now has more testing. ID’s more cases. Hudson County is very densely populated. Jersey City has huge amount of NYC commuters. From the beginning this has been considered a factor.
