Towns across Hudson County held ceremonies to remember the lives lost on 9/11, 24 years after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in rural Pennsylvania.
A total of 2,977 deaths occurred as a result of the suicide, Islamic terrorist attacks by Al-Qaeda, with thousands more people inured and many suffering long term illnesses as a result of the attacks.

Hudson TV attended three of the remembrance ceremonies on Thursday, visiting West New York in Donnelly Park, Liberty Plaza in Union City and the Weehawken 9/11 Memorial along the Hudson River shoreline.

Each of the ceremonies was well attended, as public officials, first responders, local residents and persons who lost loved ones spoke of the importance of holding Patriots Day ceremonies.
As Americans, September 11th is a day for all of us to come together as a nation; to treasure our democracy and heal as one.
We shall never forget. We will continue to fight terrorism. We will continue to embrace our freedom.
