A Press Release sent by Secaucus Police Department stated that Michael J. West, age 24, of Secaucus was arrested for making threats against Mayor Gonnelli.
The defendant was charged with making terroristic threats in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-3b. After the defendant was processed, he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. No bail was set for the defendant pending a mental health evaluation.
Mayor Gonnelli lauded the work of the Secaucus Police Department and stated, “Through the swift and thorough actions of the Secaucus Police Department, the threats were investigated and the suspect was arrested. The Secaucus Police Department has once again displayed its commitment to serve and protect the residents of our Town. I am personally grateful for their hard work, not only in this matter, but for the work they do every day to keep our Town safe.”
A similar case of a threat agasint a Hudson County Mayor was recently reported against Brian Stack of Union City this past week.
