Jersey City Man Faces 14 Drug Related Charges

HOBOKEN – A Jersey City man is facing 14 drug related charges after officers found him sleeping in his running car on Jackson St. in Hoboken last night, officials said.

On February 6, 2015 at around 3:35 a.m., officers Christopher Markey and Brett Globke were patrolling the area of Jackson St. when they saw a car illegally parked and running. Upon further investigation they observed a male sleeping in the drivers seat. When the officers opened the car to wake him up and remove the keys, they smelt a burnt marijuana smell and saw a brown cigar wrapper.

Christopher Parker, 28, of Jersey City had allegedly decided to sleep in his car and leave it running to stay warm after having a few drinks at a local bar. Upon being questioned, Parker told them he had smoked marijuana thus leading to a search.

Officials recovered a large plastic zip lock bag containing suspected marijuana from his waist band, 6 small zip lock bags containing suspected cocaine, which he had in a baby sock that was sewn into his waistband, along with another small bag of marijuana in his jacket pocket, two pills on the floor of his car and $250 in cash. He was placed under arrest and transported to JCP.

Parker was charged with distribution of CDS, under the influence of CDS, possession of CDS cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within 500 ft. of public housing, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within 1000 ft. of a school, possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1000 ft. of a public park, possession of CDS marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1000 ft. of a school, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 500 ft. of public housing, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1000 ft of a public park, possession of Fluoxetine Hydrochloride prescription with intent to distribute, and possession of Zyclo Benzidine Hydrochloride prescription with intent to distribute.
