Man struck in head and robbed on 2nd St. in Union City, officials say

UNION CITY – On February 28th at around 5:00 a.m. police received a call from Christ Hospital, reporting that a male was assaulted and robbed on 2nd St., officials said. The victim told police that he was walking on 2nd St. near the Jersey City border when two males walked passed him, turned around and struck him in the head. They then stole his personal identification, credit cards, and $400 in cash, according to officials. The victim had a one inch laceration on his head and was unable to provide a description of the men.

Police are investigating and no further information is available at this time.
