Popular recording artist Marie Miller put on a terrific free show at Waterfront Park on Tuesday night, June 19. Accompanied by a second guitarist, she performed a selection of memorable hits from her CD catalog. In addition to her striking voice, she played a highly accomplished mandolin and acoustic guitar.

Residents spread out in the amphitheater and on the lawn on a beautiful spring night facing the Hudson River as the sun slowly set, casting a warm glow on the buildings of Manhattan. Kids and adults danced happily in front of the stage, and a helicopter even dipped down overhead to check out the proceedings during Miller’s set finale.

Miller is currently crossing the country on her summer “Boardwalk Tour.” After the show she signed autographs and posed for photos with enthusiastic fans of all ages. Popcorn and water were free to attendees, and Modern Spin offered a delicious selection of dinner and dessert crepes whipped up fresh onsite.

Waterfront Park, with its outdoor amphitheater, state-of-the-art playground, picnic areas, and world-class views of uptown New York, is jointly owned and maintained by North Bergen and Guttenberg. North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco was on hand to congratulate Miller on her enjoyable set, accompanied by Commissioners Hugo Cabrera and Julio Marenco, Freeholder Anthony Vainieri, and Guttenberg Mayor Wayne Zitt.
