Hoboken, NJ – The City of Hoboken has once again demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices by earning the silver-level certification from Sustainable Jersey for the fourth consecutive year. This prestigious recognition places Hoboken among the 70 municipalities in New Jersey that have met the rigorous standards required for the advanced silver certification.

The announcement was made at the Sustainable Jersey Annual Luncheon on November 14, 2023, in Atlantic City, during the New Jersey State League of Municipalities Conference. In a significant acknowledgment of Hoboken’s dedication to sustainability, Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla was awarded the Mayor Art Ondish Leadership Award. This award celebrates Mayor Bhalla’s unwavering support and provision of resources to the Hoboken Green Team, which has been instrumental in advancing the city’s sustainability initiatives.

“I am deeply honored and grateful to receive the Mayor Art Ondish Leadership Award and Silver Certification from Sustainable Jersey on behalf of the City of Hoboken,” Mayor Bhalla remarked. “This recognition is a testament to the tireless efforts of our community, City staff, and the dedication of our Green Team. Thank you to Sustainable Jersey for your continued advocacy and support.”
