NBPD Car Show Raises Funds For Special Olympics

More than 300 vehicles lined Bergenline Avenue in North Bergen on Sunday afternoon for the 4th annual, Classic Car & Bike Show.  The event, which was started by Hudson County Freeholder Chairman Anthony Vainieri, is co-sponsored by the North Bergen Police Department.

All of the money raised, $20 admission fee per vehicle, goes to the Special Olympics of New Jersey, a cause near and dear to the township’s police force.

Chairman Vainieri says the event has grown in size each year, allowing more money to be donated to the Special Olympics.  This year’s show was moved from the summer in order to take advantage of the cooler weather.  That decision certainly paid off, as hundreds of people walked Bergenline from 79th to 90th Streets viewing the different models and makes of automobiles and motorcycles which were on display.

Admission was free for onlookers, and there were food vendors throughout for people to quench their thirst or get a snack

Hudson TV reporter Jeff Henig was there, giving the community a firsthand look at the event, live on Facebook.
