Major news on Tuesday regarding the ownership of the Bayonne Medical Center.  During a press conference at the hospital, it was announced that Hudson Regional, the hospital in Secaucus, will take over the operations of the Bayonne hospital.  Hudson Regional’s owner Yan Moshe also owns the Bayonne hospital building land the land on which the Bayonne Medical Center is located.

Now Moshe will actually run the operations of the Bayonne hospital, which has been in existence for 136 years.

The announcement means that Hudson Regional, the Bayonne Medical Center, Christ Hospital in Jersey City and Hoboken University Medical Center will all operate under one ownership, led by Moshe, and go by the name Hudson Health System.

The state of New Jersey still has to approve the takeover.  A hearing on Hudson Regional’s application to become Bayonne Medical Center’s permanent owner is set for December 10th.

Bayonne Medical Center, Hoboken University Medical Center and Christ Hospital were previously owned by CarePoint, which has declared bankruptcy at the three hospitals.
