Union city is taking major strides into healthcare this years. On Friday April 6th, Care Point Heath representatives along side of Mayor Brian P. Stack had a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Union City neighborhood health center.
The facility is a primary care center servicing all ages from infants to elders and everyone in between. The center’s main purpose is to give everyone the opportunity to get the healthcare they need whether they are insured or not. Dr. Alex Knihnicky, one of the doctors at the facility says that the goal is to take care of all of their patients.
The center will see about 35 patients per day and will have one doctor and two resident doctors on site at all times. They will specialize in all medicine including pediatrics, internal medicine, gynecology, as well as geriatrics. Depending on the patient’s needs, there will also be access to charity care specialist.
The Union City Health Center is located at 1901 West Street in Union City also known as St. Michael’s walk. The hours of operation will be from 8am-4pm. The staff are all bilingual and Dr. Knihnicky is fluent in Ukrainian, French, Spanish and English.
The facility is not just limited to Union City residents or even Hudson County residents. All are welcome and everyone will receive care.
