Hudson County Executive Craig Guy has announced the nomination process for the 2026 Hudson County Sports Hall of Fame. Residents from all twelve Hudson County municipalities are urged to apply.
Founded in 1991, the county’s Hall of Fame enshrines those Hudson County men and women who have dedicated countless hours to perfecting their skills and have been sent to compete at the highest levels, which includes the Olympic Trials, Boxing World Championships, the NFL, and the NBA. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony occurs every two years, with the next event set to take place in 2026.
In a press release, County Executive Guy stated, “The role that sports play in the Hudson County community is critical to the growth of the camaraderie we share with one another, and Hudson County is proud to honor our amazing athletes for their dedication and success. We urge all residents from our 12 municipalities to nominate themselves and their family, friends or coaches to be a part of this great recognition of the time spent training, practicing and playing games.”
According to the press release, “Nominees are required to have a minimum of 2 years experience in Hudson County during grades 9 through 12 and are asked to provide their title, biography, remarks, headshots, and all athletic accomplishments in Hudson County high school, college or university, and any professional experience. One of the following documents is requested for each accomplishment: photocopies of newspaper articles, photocopies of certificates, yearbooks, annual awards, dinner programs, and congratulatory letters.”
