North Bergen & Guttenberg Students In Grades 1 – 8 Can Get Reading Help

Are you a child in grades 1 through 8, a resident of either North Bergen or Guttenberg, and are having trouble in school with reading?  If so, you can now get extra help thanks to the North Bergen Library and the Board of Education.  North Bergen Library Director and Board of Educaton Trustee Sai Rao talks about the program.

Personalized Reading Enrichment Programs are now available through a reading initiative which uses the Orton-Gillingham Approach.  30-minute appointments are available and they are personalized directly for the student with a certified teacher.

Appointments take place Mondays from 5 pm until 7:30 pm at the downtown recreation center and library on Kennedy Boulevard, and on Tuesdays from 4:30 pm until 5:30 pn at the same location.

Appointments are also available at the Guttenberg Resource Center in the Galaxy Towers Mall on Boulveard East on Wednesdays between 5 pm and 7:30 pm.

Parents must register their child for the program.  The program is only open to residents of North Bergen and Guttenberg in grades 1 through 8.  Just call the library at (201) 867-4715, or go online to www.nbpl.org.
