North Bergen Housing Authority’s Lawler Towers Celebrate 50th Anniversary

The North Bergen Housing Authority is home to several hundred residents. This past June 29, they celebrated the 50th anniversary of Lawler Towers and the opening of the towers’ newly renovated community room. Among those in attendance, were dignitaries North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco and North Bergen Housing Authority Executive Director Gerald Sanzari.

The housing authority provides residents camaraderie and resources, such as ESL classes, citizenship courses, transportation services and access to health fairs.

The celebratory event offered food, lively music, raffles and live dance performances by Hudson County youth Emily Fernandez and Kamila Lemus.

The North Bergen Housing Authority operates over 980 low-income units spread throughout four developments, including Lawler Towers, Cullum Tower, Meadowview Village and Terrace Apartments.
