Pedestrian Seriously Injured in North Bergen Collision

North Bergen, NJ – A life threatening collision early Friday morning has left a 65-year-old pedestrian in critical condition. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office reported the incident, which took place on September 8, 2023, around 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of Bergenline Avenue and 92nd Street.

Upon their arrival, officers from the North Bergen Police Department found that a Honda Pilot, driven by Steve Inoa, 40, of North Bergen, had struck the woman on the east side sidewalk of the intersection. Emergency Medical Services promptly transported the victim to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she remains in critical but stable condition.

In the wake of preliminary investigations, Steve Inoa was charged with Driving While Intoxicated by the North Bergen Police Department. The incident is under active investigation by both the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the North Bergen Police Department.
