Oakland man arrested for Possession of Child Pornography

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JOHN D.VIELDHOUSE (DOB: 10/20/1966; single; car salesman) of Oakland, NJ, on the charge of Possession Of Child Pornography. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.

On Thursday, November 21, 2019, in connection with an Internet child pornography investigation, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of JOHN D. VIELDHOUSE in Oakland, NJ. The investigation revealed that VIELDHOUSE used the Internet to view, download, or possess approximately 1,800 digital files depicting nude or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children.

As a result of the investigation, JOHN D. VIELDHOUSE was arrested on November 21, 2019 in Paramus, NJ and charged with one count of Possession Of Child Pornography in an amount greater than 1,000 files, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b.(5)(b)ii, a 2nd degree crime, and remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella thanks the Oakland Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
