Hudson municipalities held ceremonies on Veterans Day thanking the men and women who served their country.  Hudson TV attended three of the celebrations.

The first ceremony was held in Union City.  Members of the Union City High School Junior ROTC participated, placing a wreath at the foot of the monument in War Memorial Plaza on Broadway.  Mayor Brian Stack, members of the Board of Commissioners and police officers, some who have served in the military, were in attendance.

In West New York, the ceremony took place at Veterans Park, located at Boulevard East and 54th Street.  Members of the local VFW Post and American Legion took part, along with the Board of Commissioners and local police.

Finally in Weehawken, the ceremony was held at Soldiers and Sailors Monument along Boulevard East.  Participants included Mayor Richard Turner and the Township Council, local veterans and members of the police force.

In each of the ceremonies, the message was the same.  Take the time to say thank you to a veteran for the sacrifices they have made to protect our nation’s democracy, ensuring we all can continue to enjoy the freedoms we do on a daily basis.
