One Alarm Commercial Building Fire In Bayonne Results In No Injuries

Bayonne firefighters worked quickly to extinguish a one alarm fire in a commercial building on West 25th Street on Thursday afternoon.  Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Bayonne Fire Chief Keith Weaver issued the following statement on social media:

“Bayonne Fire was dispatched to 11 W 25th Street at 12:43pm today on a report of alarms sounding with smoke coming from the basement. Arriving companies found fire in the basement of the two-story commercial building. Firefighters used a hand line to extinguish the blaze, which was declared under control at 1:18pm. All occupants of the business had safely evacuated prior to the arrival of first responders and no injuries were reported.”

The Chief adds that an investigation is currently underway into the cause of the fire, but as of this time, it is not believed to be suspicious.
