The PATH Riders’ Council (PRC) is seeking applicants to fill upcoming openings on its 15-member volunteer council. Ten current members will be completing their two-year terms at the council’s bi-monthly meeting on September 25.

The application process for a seat on the PRC begins today, September 12, and closes at 12 noon on October 4. New members will be seated at the council’s meeting in November.

Those interested in applying for membership can do so by going to: https://www.panynj.gov/path/prc

Created in 2014, the PRC is a standing advisory group that meets with PATH management throughout the year to ensure that riders have a voice in system design, communications, and decisions that affect operations.

The council has taken on added importance, given the Port Authority’s increased focus on improving the customer experience overall and through the agency’s commitment in the PATH Improvement Plan to enhancing the experience for those who use the PATH system.

Candidates must be regular users of the PATH system and be at least 18 years of age. PRC members are drawn from a cross-section of geographic and demographic areas served by PATH. The council has six scheduled evening meetings per year held every other month, usually on the third Wednesday, at PATH’s Journal Square headquarters in Jersey City.
