On March 2nd at around 6:21 p.m. Newark police were in pursuit of a Black Chrysler vehicle involved in a CDS investigation in the area of North 7th St. and Freeway drive, according to police chatter.
“A Newark cop car and an unmarked Newark police car chased a suspect into Jersey City,” said Carly Baldwin, Jersey City’s spokesperson.
Within minutes the vehicle made it’s way onto Interstate 280 eastbound and police continued to chase the vehicle onto Belleville Turnpike in Kearny, according to police chatter. The vehicle drove over the Wittpenn Bridge into Jersey City, according to police chatter.
“The chase came to a stop at 1&9 and beach street, minor MVA where driver hit the unmarked police car,” Baldwin continued.
The driver was placed under arrest. “I know they found a small amount of CDS in the car,” Baldwin said.
