Registration Set for Young Children’s Library Programs in Bayonne


Mayor James Davis and Library Director J.P. Porcaro are happy to announce that registration for young children’s storytime programs will be held at the Bayonne Public Library.  These programs are geared for children ages 18 months up to 6 years old.  Registration will take place from Monday, May 6, to Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Children’s Room in the library. Proof of Bayonne residency is required at registration.  The programs will begin the week of May 28, 2019.  Mayor Davis said, “This is an exciting line-up of children’s programs.  Several of them are brand-new, while others are old favorites.  I would like to thank Library Director JP Porcaro and the library staff for offering a great combination of both new and continuing programs for the children of Bayonne.”

The programs will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays.  Parents MUST remain in the library building during the programs.

On Tuesdays, Drama Play will take place from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.. There will be Creative Movement, songs, and hands-on activities.

Around the World at BPL will take place on Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.. The children will visit different countries by reading,coloring, or crafting.

We will  have Parent/Toddler Time on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.. This program is for children 2-3 years old.

On Wednesdays the Lapsit Program will take place from 11:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.. There will be stories, fingerplays, movement, socialization and creative play with toys. The children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. There is NO registration required or this program.

The Book Club will take place on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The children will choose a book to read and will create an art project related to the book.

We will have Crafternoon from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. The children will create seasonal or everyday crafts

On Thursdays from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. there will be Game On!  There will be board games, stories, and social play.

The program Oh the Places We Will Go! Will take place on Thursdays from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.  The children will visit communities through storytelling and will interact with community helpers.

The Bayonne Public Library is located at 31st Street and Avenue C.
