SECAUCUS, NJ – Treat time! On, Friday, July 29, 2016 in a bustling room at 101 Centre Avenue, Councilman William McKeever could be found mingling with and serving treats to Secaucus’ seniors. Just a typical summer day in Secaucus as the Town has put together a full and exciting schedule of events and trips for senior citizens this summer. In addition to the activities at the Senior Center, the monthly calendar of events for August features Point Pleasant, Seaside Heights, Hudson County boat rides, and the Sands Casino.
In August, our Town’s senior citizens can enjoy weekly trips to ShopRite, Wal- Mart, and church services, with transportation provided by the Secaucus Senior Bus Service. On Wednesdays, enjoy a combination of crafts, water aerobics, and card club, with lunch to finish it off. On Fridays, take time to relax with morning yoga or an hour of Wii, and enjoy ice cream with Mayor Gonnelli or Councilman McKeever. At night, join the Town for a summer concert or movie at Buchmuller Park.
“The Senior Center is a great place to cool off and socialize with friends, old and new,” says Mayor Michael J. Gonnelli. With activities such as yoga, gardening, bingo, and more, the center only adds to the Town’s offerings for those 55 and above.
