Senator Cory Booker Embarks on 2023 Jersey Summer Road Trip, Highlighting New Jersey’s Priorities

NEWARK, N.J. – As U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) approaches a decade in the U.S. Senate, he has announced his 2023 Jersey Summer Road Trip. This tour will span New Jersey’s 21 counties, emphasizing Booker’s dedication to the state’s priorities in Washington, D.C.

The road trip, set to begin on August 25th, will kick off with stops in Bergen, Warren, and Union counties. It will continue over the weekend and into the following week, culminating in an event in Newark on August 31st. Here, Senator Booker will discuss community violence intervention strategies alongside the New Jersey Urban Mayors Association.

On his road trips, Senator Booker remarked, “Hearing from people across our state fills me with energy and determination to fight every day for justice and opportunity for all New Jerseyans.”

The itinerary for August 25th includes:

  • 9:45 A.M. ET: A press conference at New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, where Senator Booker, alongside U.S. Representative Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ-5th) and other officials, will announce legislation to tackle the fentanyl crisis.
  • 12:30 P.M. ET: A visit to Warren Community College in Phillipsburg, where Senator Booker will spotlight the $699,000 in congressionally directed spending for the Precision Agriculture Technology Project. This initiative aims to develop farm management techniques that ensure both profitability and sustainability.
  • 3:30 P.M. ET: Marking the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act in Elizabeth, Senator Booker will join forces with U.S. EPA, local organizations, and officials to underscore federally funded programs that monitor and enhance air quality in underserved communities.
