Thousands Attend Union City’s Independence Day Celebration

This Monday, Union City held a special event for the children in celebration of Independence Day.

Though temperatures were rising near 100 degrees, thousands of families came together to enjoy the festivities on July 2. There were two stages for live bands and musicians to play. They also offered free food and snacks— such as hot dogs, a cotton candy machine, popcorn— and plenty of activities for the kids to have fun, which took place on New York Avenue from 23rd to 29th Street.

Hudson TV had a chance to speak with Mayor Brian Stack and Commissioner Lucio Fernandez about the event.

It was great fun for the entire family and we also spoke with some families about their experiences.
