Union City celebrated the Fourth of July in style Thursday evening — with food, music, games for the kids and more than a few hot dogs too.
Resident Ivis Arias wanted to spend the evening with her friends and family and to support Mayor Brian Stack.
“He’s very civilian oriented, so he does this for everybody else, for everybody that supports him and I think it’s very special,” Arias says.
The police are not just there for security…
“We’re here because we’re part of the community and we’re celebrating Independence Day with them, so it’s just a great time to come out, meet the community, meet your neighbors,” says Chief of Police, Richard Molinari.
Nothing is more American than the Fourth of July and thousands in Union City come to celebrate the summer holiday.
“We have more rides, more music, more games — it’s great for the family,” says Commissioner Lucio Fernandez. “Union City, you could have a great time!”
Just one look at the sea of smiling faces and it’s obvious they are truly enjoying their right to ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.’
“This is very nice for the neighborhood, it’s a great event — and I think the neighborhood deserves it,” resident Paolo Rodriguez says.
