For the 45th year, the Brian P. Stack Civic Association is handing out thousands of toys to children in the 33rd Legislative District at various locations through Monday, December 15th.
On Saturday, Hudson TV stopped by one of the toy giveaway locations, the Edison School in Union City. Children were treated to a holiday show and received a toy from Santa Claus.
Mayor and State Senator Stack began this effort as a young, 14-year old. The program has grown incredibly over the decades, with this year’s effort resulting in more than 14,000 toys being distributed through Monday at schools and other locations in Union City, West New York, North Bergen, Weehawken, Guttenberg and Secaucus.
Stack says nothing gives him more joy than seeing the smile on the children’s faces when they are handed a toy from ‘Ole Saint Nick.
