Witnesses at the scene reported seeing three individuals engaging in a gunfight in the vicinity of East 21st Street, East 22nd Street, and Avenue E. On August 22, Rivera was apprehended near East 25th Street. The firearm he used in the shooting remains missing. The following day, Juvenile 2 was taken into custody from his residence. Additionally, Juvenile 2 was identified as the suspect in a motor vehicle theft that occurred earlier in the month. He later turned himself in for this crime on August 29.
