Three Suspects Arrested in Connection with Murder of William Porter of Newark

Authorities have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Newark resident William Porter in a parking lot on Oliver Street in Newark.

Porter, was gunned down at approximately at approximately 2:30 am. on April 21st 2017 as he left a bar on Mulberry Street.

An investigation by the Essex County Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, led authorities to charge three individuals with the murder of Porter.

The three have been identified as:

Naim S. Jones, age 40, of Newark

Rashan Jackson, age 30 of Irvington

Hakeem Maloney, age 37 of Irvington

All three suspects have been charged with Murder, conspiracy to commit Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
