Two brothers arrested on drug distribution charges

On Wednesday, September 24 at 2 pm, the vice squad had stopped a Toyota Camry vehicle they observed traveling from Kearny into Harrison.
They were aware that the operator of the vehicle, 30-year-old Harrison resident Dino Bermudez was driving with a suspended license. They also had knowledge that Mr. Bermudez had an outstanding warrant for contempt of court.

Upon stopping the vehicle and placing him under arrest and conducting a search incident to that arrest, Mr. Bermudez was found to be in possession of a prescription bottle that was not his. The bottle contained 30 OxyContin pills.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a motor vehicle, possession with intent to distribute, and possession of a controlled substance in or near school property.

Later on that same afternoon, officers conducted a search warrant at the Bermudez residence.

At that time, 31-year-old Marcos Bermudez was taken into custody and charged with possession of heroin, distribution of heroin, distribution within a school zone, and distribution of drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the secondary search, which was supported by a court authorized warrant, 50 glassine bags of suspected heroin stamped Sin City and 50 glassine folds of suspected heroin stamped Superman were recovered along with $149 in cash and several cell phones.
