Two arrested on multiple drug charges in West New York

West New York Police arrested two people Wednesday afternoon for multiple drug violations after a motor vehicle stop near 62nd Street and Buchanan Place turned up a 2002 Chevy Impala parked in the yellow zone.

Edgar Peres, 24, of New York City and Louis Mejia, 25, of North Bergen, were arrested.

Police seized marijuana, bath salts, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and $986 in cash, possibly the proceeds of drug sales.

WNY Narcotics members also responded to the scene.

At the time of his arrest, Peres had an outstanding warrant in North Bergen and was issued two MV summons, for parking in a prohibited area and possession of CDS in a MV.

Peres was charged with possession with the intent to distribute (bath salts), possession with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school (P.S. #4), possession of CDS (bath salts), possession of CDS (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At the time of his arrest, Mejia had an outstanding warrant in Jacobstown, NJ.

Mejia was charged with possession with the intent to distribute (bath salts), possession with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school (P.S. #4), possession of CDS (bath salts), possession of CDS (marijuana), possession of CDS (cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
