The artistic talents of Union City High School students were on display at the Musto Center on Saturday night, as the Winter Wonderland exhibit featured the works of 9th through 12th graders.

Some of the students had one painting, one drawing or one sculpture, while others had several works on display.  for many of the students, this was the first time anything they had created had been shown publicly.

The goal of the exhibit was to give the students confidence in their abilities, according to Roberto Astudillo, the Union City public schools visual and media arts district supervisor.

The event was free and open to the public.  If any members of the public were so inclined, all of the art work was available for purchase from the students.

Everything had a winter theme, so there were landscapes, frozen ponds and snow covered scenes to choose from.

Later this year, AP students from Union City’s Jose Marti STEM Academy will have their art work on display for public viewing.
