The auditorium of the Colin Powell School in Union City was packed with senior citizens eating, dancing, and having a great time. The city held a luncheon for the seniors in honor of Mother’s Day.
The Union City High School ROTC students helped run the event by serving the seniors their food and handing them roses with messages as they walked through the door.
In addition to the regularly scheduled luncheon, some very special people were honored. The Union City Police Department honored Commissioner Rivas for his longevity of serving the public. Union City Police Officer Chris Scardino, was also honored for his help in the set up of The Police Memorial Park.
Everyone at the event had an excellent time and raved about the food! “The food is excellent, it really good!” said Nicholas Spadavecchia.
