Union City youngsters are learning basic soccer skills thanks to a partnership with the New York Red Bull, professional soccer team. A two month long, ROOTS soccer clinic is underway for boys and girls aged 3 through 8.
The clinic is divided into age groups, with 3 through 5-year olds meeting on Tuesdays and 6 through 8-year olds on Thursdays.
The Union City Board of Education has numerous ROOTS sports programs for city children, not just soccer. There’s wrestling, football, baseball, basketball and volleyball, to name a few.
